From the studio’s point of view
Stream activity tells you that data is moving. The listener return lets you check what comes back. Before going live, test a separate stream with your own audio interface and provider—and listen independently.
Good to know
A few details for planning your station’s setup.
Read the plain-text overviewHottub Relay is a live audio encoder for radio stations. It sends your studio mix to a compatible streaming provider, with outgoing stream activity and listener-return monitoring in one place. It works alongside your existing mixer and playout software.
Hottub Relay is coming soon. Mac, Windows, and Linux releases are in preparation. Downloads will appear here after platform testing; no public release date or pricing has been announced.
We are targeting Intel Macs running macOS 10.13.6 or later, including the Mid 2010 Mac mini. This is a compatibility target that still needs hardware testing. PowerPC Macs are outside this release.
The current trial uses a supported stereo 44.1 kHz input and MP3 output. Guided setup supports SHOUTcast v1-compatible endpoints. Check your own interface and provider before replacing a live encoder.
Start with a separate test stream. Check outgoing data activity, inspect the listener return, and listen independently. Data movement alone does not prove that the intended audio is audible to listeners.
